I know, Randall--you'd think I'm asking for the moon. Really, though, I'm just asking that they both get poor Kitty out of there and, you know, throw in a bit to fix that hole in the ceiling (investment in infrastructure, dontcha know).
Not until the absolute last second; not until each side has made enough bathetic grand gestures guaranteed to wring tears from an orphan’s dog; not until they work a ‘deal’ that minimizes actual effectiveness while maximizing their personal public exposure;
Not ‘til the cows come home and Boehner cries.
Then they’ll be done.

After that they can start name calling over the FY12 budget.
There's got to be some way of altering election cycles--I'm thinking in particular of the two years for Representatives--so that they don't have this awful effect on policy-making. Maybe 3-year terms for them? Of course, that "something" is an amendment to the Constitution . . .
You mean you expect responsible behavior? From politicians? It would be nice, but I'll believe it when I see it.
