"But where's the rest of the Carnival?"
Beats me, Ben and Sophie. But it's true: just one submission this week* for the Kansas Guild of Bloggers' weekly carnival of Blogs. I do understand: last week was the beginning of school for many of you or your progeny (or, as in my case, spouses and Significant Others). But I also happen to know that many of you didn't go post-less this past week. Tsk.
So here's what we'll do: if you still wish to submit something for this week's Carnival, either click on the link or e-mail the link to me today or tomorrow, and I'll see that it gets added to this post.
And now, on with this week's Carnival of One:
The KGB and the Carnival wish to welcome Justin Perkins of the fairly new blog Zeropointe. Justin has some brief but useful advice on te subject of Spyware Prevention. Justin says this post is atypical for him, so I hope you'll visit his site to see what else he writes about.
And that's it--for now. I hope you'll submit something for inclusion in this week's Carnival as soon as you get a chance to.
*UPDATES: An appropriately-contrite emawkc of Three O'Clock in the Morning brings us news of this year's cicada crop and the fun one can have when one mixes one mischievous adult with one cicada and a room full of small children in Cicada summer.
Update #2: Two more posts . . .
Paul Decelles of The force that through... sends us two posts this week. In the first he recounts how he spent some time off in Now I'm Back!. in the second post, he regrets the politicization of stem-cell research and applauds private sector efforts to pursue this research in Thanks for the Private Sector!.
Over at Evolution, j.d., casting a bitter eye on the proceedings here, appears to long for the good old days of shame cultures.
You can put that scourge down now.

thanks for the warm welcome/mention, John. I hope I can give my fellow KGB members something useful to read once in a while!!
Hi John -
I made a submission Saturday night, but apparently you didn't get it....I resubmitted it a few minutes ago, hope you get it this time. After 3-4 weeks of not submittibg anything to any carnival, I am eager to get back in the game. After my weekend trip to KCMO, I am back in Topeka and rearing to go.
