"This isn't your average book."

I've just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am now officially immune to spoilers. For now, at least, I'll invite questions and comments in the, um comments section, so those wishing to avoid spoilers have fair warning; later, though, I'll have up a post with some comments. The title, though, is something of a preview of those remarks.

I haven't read it yet, but I did ask a friend if Harry lived. And I got the answer I suspected. But I will avoid this comment section until I read it for myself. Thanks for the heads up. Lyn

Oh! I just got the book yesterday, and have only had time today to make it through a chapter or so, and the week ahead is busy...so...I will be in desperate need of a LONG beach day next weekend, with book in hand. I thoroughly enjoy them - and am curious about how it all will end!

I finished around 2:30 am last night. Didn't skip a page, didn't skip ahead. Now I see what the "premature review" (I'm using a kind term) by Michiko Kakutani in the NYTimes on July 19th (!!!) meant by calling HP a true "epic hero," but I'll not say anything more. Kakutani, apparently in some zeal to match Le Parisien's early review, which was printed upside down after a headline alerted one to spoilers, did not give away the end, but did give away some key details in the plot, including what is meant by "the deathly hallows." Poor form, I'd say, very poor form.
