From Elba I greet you . . .

Actually, from Topeka--to be more precise, the Topeka/Shawnee County Library, truly a wonderful place to read and work . . . and surreptitiously blog from, too.

My stay here with the Mrs. and her family has been most enjoyable on a personal level and productive on a scholarly one. In part for those reasons and, in part, because some new baby-wrangling duties of the sort I've described here before have arisen, I've extended my stay up here through this Thursday. Lest my reader(s) begin to worry, I thought I'd post something to reassure: "Elba" as opposed to "St. Helena," though, continuing the analogy, it would appear that some sort of "Waterloo" awaits me upon my return . . .

So . . . how're y'all?

Ha!

Some sort of waterloo awaits US ALL! We cannot let that little fact slow us down can we?

Popped in at lunch intending to leave an inquiry about you in the comments to the July 4 entry.

Glad you're well.

As for Waterloo, watch out for the Prussians. They'll be the ones on the right.

Cheers.

It has been so terribly quiet and lonely here without you, John. Glad it's going well for you. See ya back here soon...

On second thought, the quiet is kinda nice. Take another week... ;-)

To take the Waterloo reference in another direction, you're really a Super Trouper for taking on the baby wrangling duties.
